International Village school
Founded by ConnectSwiss, it is the only private secondary school in a rural area of western Kenya, Kisumu village in the Emuhaya Constituency of the Vihiga District.

The school provides all teaching materials to promote high quality secondary education for needy students who otherwise would not be able to pursue their education. It is a day school for boys and girls, all highly motivated, many walk several kilometers every day to reach the school. FOTIS currently supports a whole class of 27 students in Form 2 and is committed to support them until the completion of their studies in Form 4, as it has done previously with other 2 classes. The school is very successful, 45% of IVS graduates are enrolled in universities: their results in the examinations for the Kenyan Certificate of Secondary Education are routinely in top of the schools in the area.

Parikrma Humanity Foundation
Parikrma counts several schools in 4 locations with a total over 2000 children, many attend the secondary school.

Under the indomitable leadership of Shukla Bose, children from the slums of Bangalore are given a complete educational experience. With a rich, holistic curriculum, which encourage reading, gives access to technology, encourage empathy, personal growth and respect for the environment and humanity, the students thrive and grow. Many of the Parirkma graduates continue to higher education and onto very successful careers. However, it is not only the students that attend the Parikrma schools that benefit, the parents are also encouraged to attend literacy classes thus improving their job opportunities and their dignity.
Currently FOTIS sponsors 10 girls. 25 students, boys and girls, sponsored by FOTIS since 2016 have already graduated.

The Veerni Project
The Veerni Institute, a non-profit organization in Jodhpur, Rajasthan India, provides free education and hostel facilities for child brides from the rural villages.

The Veerni Insitute makes it possible for girls in rural Rajasthan to attend Secondary School. By providing housing, meals, educational support in safe and caring environment girls are able to complete their secondary education without the interruptions of family life and the pressure of marriage. All girls are welcome from all castes adding the unique aspect of breaking the social barriers the caste system imposes.

Educate2Envision Secondary Schools
E2E provides a holistic approach to secondary education for young people in rural Honduras, where access to traditional secondary education is limited.

E2E provides schools for these remote communities, encourages the students to create community projects and small enterprises (coffee production) to help sustain their schools and partially pay for their education. The purpose is to provide livelihood opportunities within these rural communities and prevent the youth migrating to the urban centres.
FOTIS has sponsored 20 students since 2017, 7 have graduates, currently FOTIS sponsors 13.

Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology
The Rwanda Girls Initiative opened the Academy in 2009 as an upper secondary boarding school in Busegera, one hour south of Kigali, Rwanda.

The school offers an excellent academic program geared to motivate students who want to pursue a scientific education with the ultimate goal of participating in the development of their country through technology. Giving back to the community is an important aspect of the education at Gashora, the girls are an active part of the community around them visiting other girls, teaching and getting involved with local projects of development. The students who have graduated from Gashora have been regularly the recipients of major fellowships to attend universities in and outside Africa. Since 2016 eight students sponsored by FOTIS have graduated and gone to university.

Saigon Children’s Charity
The Child Development Program of Saigon Children’s Charity provides scholarships to children and young adults in six provinces of Viet Nam.

The scholarships include not only tuition fees but also all that is necessary to attend school successfully, from calculators and books to bicycles, from medical treatments to glasses. An important part of the program are the home visits, sometimes in hard to reach locations, for health checks on students and support of all kinds to the families. Vocational training is offered as well as high school, particularly important for young people to access easily gainful employment. The program includes over 2000 children of all ages, FOTIS sponsors 20 students in secondary schools and vocational training.

Education for All
Education for All/Education pour Tous, founded by Martine Coppens, has enabled the best performing and most disadvantaged children in a very rural area of Sierra Leone to continue their education from the Masantagie primary school, built and run by this organisation, to various secondary schools nearby.

Project goals include stressing the importance of basic education for girls, and encouraging parents to ensure that their daughters finish school. The local community is very involved in school activities, in maintaining school buildings, and participating in workshops and training for girls and women.
FOTIS sponsors 15 students since 2017.
Our local partner is Martine Coppens a retired teacher from the International School of Geneva, and her Organisation. The students are followed by Martine and her team on the ground.

Ecole Secondaire de Kidaho

Several of the parents are farmers with many children and with scarce resources to support secondary education for them. The students have the advantage of boarding at the school, a guarantee of attendance and success in completing their studies. FOTIS has been a sponsor of a number of students since 2013.
College George Fox de Butaro
The school in the Butaro Sector, Burera District, North Provence , Rwanda, was created with a purpose to help the students, mainly from rural areas by giving them the best available secondary education. FOTIS is sponsoring 6 students for up to 6 years.
Colegio Cristiano Integral
The Colegio Cristiano Integral is the first accredited Christian, bilingual school in Santa Marta focusing on high academic standards with a foundation of Cristian values and principles.

The school offers the opportunity of a bilingual, personalized education to families who could not afford the high costs of the bilingual schools in the area. The students routinely excel in national examinations with resulting access to scholarships in national and foreign universities. FOTIS has sponsored students at CCI since 2018.

Asociación Cristiana Deportiva
(ACD) is a small Christian school which serves a very poor area of Bogota, Colombia. It aims to keep children in education and off the streets through sports (in particular football) and music programmes. FOTIS is sponsoring 5 students; in 2018 2 of the original 5 sponsored students successfully graduated.
